The European Union has imposed a new customs handling fee of €3 ($3.40) on low-value e-commerce parcels entering its territory. This new charge, which targets imports from international online platforms like Shein, Temu, and AliExpress, aims to dismantle the previous duty-free status that such parcels enjoyed. Each customs classification within a shipment will incur this fee, meaning that packages with multiple product categories will face several charges, whereas shipments of identical items will only be subjected to a single €3 fee.
